Eating Sichuan spicy noodles in the Parisian countryside — Taiwan’s most European-style noodle shop

Located on a street in downtown Taichung, there’s a restaurant full of Parisian charm called “Chuan Laolao Paris Noodle Shop.” Its lavish decor and furnishings also exude a strong Gypsy vibe. Although it’s an exotic-looking eatery, what the shop offers is authentic Sichuan cuisine, seamlessly blending European flair with bold Sichuan flavors, attracting many foodies and becoming a new culinary hotspot.

The furnishings inside the noodle shop are all antique pieces rich in history and stories, and the walls are adorned with uniquely styled paintings that seem to echo the shop's philosophy. To serve the most authentic Sichuan-style noodles and braised dishes, the owner traveled to Sichuan to learn the craft, with every dish meticulously prepared using natural ingredients.
