1. Tochigi Prefecture - Ashikaga Flower Park
Once selected by CNN as one of the world’s top ten dreamlike scenic spots, Ashikaga Flower Park boasts a 150-year-old Great Wisteria, over 350 wisteria plants, and more than 5,000 azaleas competing in beauty. In addition, there is a flower tunnel made up of white and yellow wisterias, with a blooming period of about one month — truly a dreamlike sight. The blooming season runs from April 18 to May 20, and the night illumination period is from April 21 to May 13. The vast sea of flowers spanning 1,000 square meters captivates both domestic and international tourists.

The “Garden of Light’s Flowers” at Ashikaga Flower Park is also one of the three major light festivals in the Kanto region and is an absolute must-see light celebration when visiting Japan. It features up to 2.1 million bulbs to create a garden of light.

2. Tokyo - Kameido Tenjin Shrine
Starting in late April, Tokyo’s wisteria enters its blooming season. For those looking to enjoy wisteria, Kameido Tenjin Shrine, known as the “No. 1 Wisteria Viewing Spot in Tokyo,” is a great choice. The shrine’s wisterias, some over 340 years old, bloom beautifully around the Shinji Pond, with approximately 94 wisteria trees creating a romantic scene.
