The Yangmingshan Flower Festival offers more than just cherry blossoms—enjoy lake views, green spaces, and an explosion of 8,000 daffodils.

The Yangmingshan Flower Festival has kicked off, attracting a large number of domestic and international visitors eager to admire the blooms. Among them, nearly 3,200 cherry trees of various species across the area are the highlight of this floral event. But besides the popular pink cherry blossoms that create a stunning spectacle in spring, there’s more to see—near the lakeside green space by Yangmingshan Park, nearly 8,000 fragrant daffodils have burst into bloom, creating a magnificent and enchanting scene as their pure white petals contrast beautifully with the vast green lawns.

This year’s Yangmingshan Flower Festival runs until March 25, spanning 32 days. Throughout the festival, various themed spots within Yangmingshan Park—including the flower clock, fountains, cherry blossom groves, the visitor center, and the statue of Wang Yangming—are adorned with blooming flowers. The two main highlights of the annual festival are the over 8,000 daffodils by the pond in the lakeside green space and the delicate pink Yoshino cherry blossoms in front of the visitor center. Recently, the Chinese daffodils in the lakeside green space have quietly begun to bloom, filling the air with their sweet fragrance. The lush greenery paired with the elegant, fragrant white daffodils creates a serene contrast to the vibrant Yangmingshan Park, forming a peaceful oasis.

Across Yangmingshan, there are nearly 3,200 cherry trees of various species, including mountain cherries, double-flowered cherries, Showa cherries, and Yoshino cherries, which bloom in relay fashion. In addition to cherry blossoms, azaleas, daffodils, wild Chinese bellflowers, and Japanese butterbur on Yangmingshan are also entering full bloom.
