JR East Japan has expanded into themed cafes, dining, and hospitality in Taiwan

Taking the subway is very convenient for traveling in Tokyo and is the top choice for many travelers. Subway operator JR East Japan has established a branch in Taiwan and opened the “Japan Rail Cafe” to promote domestic and international lifestyle services in Japan.

JR East Japan plans to open the “Japan Rail Cafe” in Taipei in April. Through the cafe, travelers can gather travel information from various parts of Japan, and the cafe will also sell JR Rail Passes, offer food and beverages, retail goods, and host events.

JR East Japan is a major company under the JR Group in Japan, with business areas including railways, hotels, bento meals, and department stores. In the future, it also plans to introduce JR East Japan’s affiliated businesses—such as hotels, bento services, and dining options—centered around train stations across Taiwan.
