Planning to watch the fireworks near Taipei 101 for New Year’s Eve but haven’t found the best spot yet? The Taipei City Government’s Department of Urban Development has announced 18 scenic spots in Xinyi and Wenshan Districts where you can enjoy the fireworks from high vantage points and ring in 2017 with an amazing view.
The department recommends Xiangshan Trail as the top spot closest to Taipei 101 for enjoying the fireworks. Just a 10 to 15-minute walk from the trailhead will take you to several viewing platforms, each offering a clear view of the dazzling nightscapes of Taipei 101 and the surrounding Xinyi Planning District buildings, and letting you fully experience the breathtaking impact of the fireworks.
The 18 scenic spots are as follows:
Xinyi District
Xiangshan Trail: Sheshou Platform, Six Boulders, Photography Platform, City Therapy Platform, Fireworks Platform, Yongchungang Platform, Shiruyuan, Xiangshan Printing Platform, Chaoran Pavilion
Hushan Trail: Jifu Palace Square, 120 Highland Pavilion, Fuxing Garden, Forest Outlook Platform, Shifang Chan Temple
