Come for the Ice and Snow Festival / A fantasy-like light festival named after swans:: Tokachigawa Shiratori Festival

Every winter, about 1,000 swans fly to Tokachigawa Onsen to escape the cold, and the sight of their snow-white flocks dancing along the river is truly beautiful. Inspired by this romantic scene and their creative flair, the Japanese conceived the idea that "as night falls, the swans transform into light spirits." Based on music and lights, they designed an open-air, large-scale music and light show—a beautiful festival that feels like stepping into a dream world—the Tokachigawa Shiratori Festival. This year’s event is scheduled to take place from January 23 to February 28.
