Have you seen the illuminated wind turbines at Gaomei Wetlands at night? To extend the beauty of the sunset, Taiwan Power Company and the Taichung City Government held the “Winds of Change – Power and Nature Coexisting” event on the 25th, lighting up 10 wind turbines facing the sea. The sight of the “wind turbine sunset” blends into the landscape, with halos reflecting on the sea surface, adding a romantic touch to the evening Gaomei Wetlands and making it a new hotspot for couples’ dates.

Taiwan Power Company illuminated the first row of 10 turbines adjacent to Huangang North Road and facing the sea, setting the stage for the Gaomei sunset. In the future, the lights will be turned on regularly every evening—between 6pm and 8pm in winter, and 7pm and 9pm in summer—for 15 minutes on and 15 minutes off, totaling one hour of lighting per night, extending the beauty after the Gaomei Wetlands sunset fades.

The sunset at Gaomei Wetlands is captivating and renowned overseas, recently being voted by a Japanese travel website as the top choice for Japanese tourists traveling abroad in autumn. In addition to the wind turbine night view, Taiwan Power Company has also painted two of the turbines, giving them a unique charm when lit up. Now, the Gaomei Wetlands sunset combined with the wind turbine scenery creates a landmark that is beautiful both day and night.
