There’s another hidden spot to admire metasequoias, and following Bade Pond, “Liutang” in Beibu Township, Hsinchu, has recently gone viral among netizens for its metasequoia views, attracting many visitors to make a pilgrimage and take photos.

As the name suggests, “Liutang” has six large ponds, whose surfaces perfectly reflect the rows of metasequoias. On sunny days, adorned with blue skies and white clouds, it feels like stepping through a magical portal into a foreign land, making it hard to put your camera down. As the winter sun gently shines, the metasequoia forest takes on golden hues, with leaves tinged in green, yellow, orange, and red—vibrant and colorful, like a golden forest straight out of a fairy tale.

To reach Beibu Liutang, you must traverse winding paths, and once you’re back on the main road, the metasequoia forest comes into view. This narrow mountain road fully fits the definition of a “hidden gem.”

After being tidied up by local residents, “Liutang” has become a beautiful park. Though small in size and with only 16 metasequoias, it boasts a unique “mirror-like metasequoia” view. You can walk along the lakeside path, where there are plenty of benches for couples to rest and take photos. Every corner looks like a painting—dreamily picturesque.
