The Nine Clans cherry blossoms are booming in popularity—nighttime cherry blossom viewing adds even more charm.

The Sun Moon Lake Gondola, which began operations late last year, has already attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors. Now, during the peak cherry blossom season at the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village and its Cherry Blossom Festival, those looking to join this blooming trend can plan their trips before or after the Lunar New Year when prices are more favorable, ensuring a smoother journey.

The cherry blossoms at the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village have reached full bloom, and many visitors have already planned trips to admire the stunning view of the blossoms and the scenic beauty of Sun Moon Lake from above. To ease peak-time crowds, the park has extended its operating hours into the evening and introduced afternoon tickets for night cherry blossom viewing until February 28. Each night, colorful lights beautifully highlight the cherry blossoms, offering visitors a magical new experience.

To prevent overcrowding and maintain recreational quality, the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village and the Sun Moon Lake Gondola Company have implemented a crowd control system. When the total number of tickets sold and visitors reaches 20,000 at both the village and gondola ends, ticket sales will be immediately suspended to preserve the quality of park visits and gondola rides. In cases of early ticket stoppages, the park will inform potential visitors via highway CMS electronic signs, police radio broadcasts on Taichung’s 94.5FM, SMS alerts, and roadside signs. Please consider alternative routes in advance to avoid inconvenience.

From February 14 to 21, the entrance fee to the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village is the regular price of NT$700. After February 22, promotional prices of NT$490 or NT$550 will be offered. During the Lunar New Year period, the ticket price still includes a complimentary ride on the Sun Moon Lake Gondola. The park will extend its operating hours until 8:00 PM with night cherry blossom viewing available, while the gondola and amusement facilities will operate until 7:00 PM. An additional “Night Dance Festival” performance will be held at the Cultural Square at 7:00 PM.
