Spring flower viewing in early spring? Yangmingshan is a must-visit!

The "Blooming Spring" event of this year, which k Wen Pi Jia ??????? luling chaos fairy焦凵偷's "luxurious spring meeting", started on February 26. The 2010 flower season, themed "Painting Spring", gathers a variety of flowers including plum blossoms, cherry blossoms, azaleas, and calla lilies. The park authorities have meticulously arranged the venue, adding splashes of vibrant color to the natural beauty.

During the transition from winter to spring, Yangmingshan sees a continuous bloom of various flowers. People from all over Taiwan endure traffic jams just to witness the breathtaking sight of flowers in full bloom. This year’s flower season kicks off on February 26 and runs lively until March 28, spanning a total of 31 days. During the flower season, aside from admiring cherry blossoms and plum blossoms, visitors can also enjoy a variety of exciting activities on weekends such as lion dances, plant dyeing, wind instrument performances, hand puppet shows, recorder concerts, oil painting, Flower Expo baby garden tours, and prize quizzes—allowing everyone to immerse themselves in the floral sea and experience a sense of timeless charm.

Among the various flowers in Yangmingshan, cherry blossoms are truly exceptional and highly favored by flower enthusiasts. The main varieties include Somei Yoshino and Taihaku cherry blossoms. The Somei Yoshino are mostly planted at higher altitudes within the Datun Mountain Range, while the Taihaku cherry blossoms are found along the routes of Grass Mountain, Shamao Mountain, and Zhuzihu. Currently, the early-blooming mountain cherry blossoms are gradually showcasing their beauty, with blossoms densely covering the trees, adding touches of spring vibrancy to the otherwise desolate winter; varieties such as Somei Yoshino, Showa cherry, Oshima cherry, and Kanzan cherry are yet to bloom in succession.

Additionally, the already blooming wild peonies and various camellias also add splashes of color to the peaks of Yangmingshan. The beautiful sweet gums, adorable native violas, and the wildflowers and grasses spread across the forests and fields all contribute to decorating the land, offering scenic charm in every direction. Beyond the gorgeous floral landscapes, Yangmingshan also features numerous cultural and historical structures, including the Yangming Villa and Grass Mountain Guesthouse, where visitors can explore the mysteries and history of these sites. For those wanting to get close to nature, spots like Dragon-Phoenix Valley and Sulfur Valley offer volcanic landforms and the spectacle of wisps of white smoke.

When visiting Yangmingshan to view the flowers, those driving up should be aware of traffic controls. It is recommended that the public use public transportation to avoid traffic congestion. Bus routes to Yangmingshan include Route 260, which goes from Dongyuan Wanda Road through Ming Chuan University to Yangmingshan; Route 109, which runs from Gongguan Xinglong Road via Ming Chuan University to Yangmingshan; Route 111, which travels from Xinzhuang LeSheng Sanatorium through MRT Jiantan Station to Yangmingshan; and Red 5, which goes from MRT Jiantan Station to Yangmingshan.
