China Airlines launches direct flights to London, starting from NT$30,700 for a British romance

Following a series of major events — such as the Eurostar high-speed train officially integrating the UK into Europe’s high-speed rail network, visa-free travel for Taiwanese to the UK, and the 2012 London Olympics — the UK has evolved from an ancient capital into a popular travel hotspot. This year, China Airlines announced that it will launch direct flights between Taipei and London starting March 28, eliminating the need for transfers to reach the heart of Britain.

Starting March 28 this year, China Airlines will add a new non-stop route between Taipei and London, operating three flights per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. The flights will use the Airbus A340-300 aircraft, offering 30 business class seats and 246 economy class seats. With this launch, China Airlines becomes the only carrier offering non-stop flights from Taipei to London, providing the most convenient and comfortable service for business travelers, students, and tourists heading to the UK.

Currently, China Airlines operates direct flights to European cities including Frankfurt and Vienna, with London soon to be added. There are also flights via Bangkok to Amsterdam and via Delhi to Rome. To celebrate the new London route, customers who book tickets on the China Airlines website will receive a limited-edition British Guards mascot, regardless of cabin class. Passengers on the first three flights will additionally receive a 3D limited-edition China Airlines London launch mouse pad before boarding at the airport.

Additionally, China Airlines Mega members can use 15,000 miles to offset NT$4,500 of the fare, or 10,000 miles to offset NT$3,000. With these promotions, the lowest price for China Airlines’ direct flights to London starts at NT$30,700 (with a mileage offset of 15,000 miles).
