This year, the British Columbia Tourism Authority has adopted an unconventional marketing approach by launching a high-quality online travel novel and inviting major travel agencies to join in the fun. The web novel highlights key destinations in British Columbia, focusing on the 2010 Winter Olympics host city Vancouver, the ski paradise Whistler, the romantic garden city Victoria, and the coastal beauty of Vancouver Island. Together, they weave romantic and touching love stories. To stay true to the original narrative, the production team also traveled to British Columbia to film real locations featured in the novel. Paired with a classic romantic music soundtrack, readers can enjoy an auditory feast while immersing themselves in the story.

The British Columbia Tourism Authority has also produced a new series of destination introduction videos, offering in-depth guides and insights into BC’s cuisine, Vancouver, Victoria, and Whistler for travelers who love the province. These videos vividly showcase each attraction. Another enticing feature on the website, "Celebrities Read Along," invites well-known public figures who have either lived in or been invited to British Columbia, including Yu Meiren, Hu Tianlan, Luo Fu, Chen Guanyu, and Chen Jianyu, founder of Gold Record, to guide readers through the beautiful scenes depicted in the novel. If you fall in love with the spring blossoms of Victoria, the vibrant summer energy of Vancouver Island, the autumn charm of Vancouver, or the winter wonderland of Whistler, you can also download scenic desktop wallpapers to keep a piece of BC’s rustic charm.

The web novel is divided into five parts. The first chapter, "Vancouver – Five Ways to Love You," is already available for reading. The story features well-known attractions such as Canada Place, Granville Island, Robson Square, English Bay, the Vancouver Museum, and the Maritime Museum, as well as special transportation facilities built for the 2010 Winter Olympics, like the Canada Line airport express and Vancouver sightseeing buses. The second chapter, "Love in the Falling Snow," takes place in the ski paradise Whistler. The fifth chapter, "Love, Unspeakable," follows the protagonist on a BC Ferries journey to explore the unique attractions of Vancouver Island. The charming fishing village of Cape Mudge boasts the breathtaking sunset views of Barkerville Beach, Tofino is one of Canada’s most picturesque west coast towns, and Duncan, the capital of totems, and Chemainus, the village of murals, leave visitors in awe. The final chapter’s protagonists not only take readers deep into the beauty of Vancouver Island but also touch on the most vulnerable aspects of love as the story progresses. "Fall in Love with Canada, Whisper British Columbia" will release one chapter per week for readers to savor.
