A new Japanese robatayaki experience in Hong Kong — busysuzie is taking the city by storm!

The one-of-a-kind circular robatayaki restaurant and bar, busysuzie, is located at 1881 Heritage in Tsim Sha Tsui. This historic building was originally a lighthouse used to display typhoon signals in Hong Kong and is an iconic structure that once served as the former Marine Police Headquarters. The restaurant showcases a super-stylish contemporary Asian fusion style, offering Japanese delicacies prepared with the freshest ingredients, along with an extensive selection of Japanese sake, delivering a truly unique dining experience.

Robatayaki originated in Sendai, the largest city in northeastern Japan, evolving from the culinary culture where fishermen used to cook fresh seafood over an open flame on the beach using simple wooden paddles. At busysuzie, the robatayaki chefs still serve dishes using wooden paddles, creating an interesting contrast with the Chinese-style “Lazy Susan” rotating table where diners help themselves. The entire interior design of the restaurant is handled by the renowned French design duo Gilles & Boissier, presenting a world-class and delightfully engaging dining experience.

The cuisine at busysuzie is meticulously crafted using premium fresh ingredients flown in daily from Japan. The menu features a variety of authentic Japanese dishes, including rich and flavorful Miyazaki sirloin beef skewers, Yamaguchi chicken skewers, a range of fresh seafood options, as well as a selection of signature appetizers, sushi and sashimi, tempura, and Japanese vegetables. The sake list is extensive, showcasing a wide variety of top-quality sakes that are unmatched in Hong Kong. Even the waitstaff uniforms are exquisitely designed by Hong Kong’s celebrated fashion designer William Lee, perfectly complementing the elegant ambiance created in collaboration with internationally renowned lighting designer Isometrix.
