Japan’s most spectacular spring attraction — Tateyama Kurobe has officially announced its opening on April 17. Every year around this time, thousands of travelers flock here, especially to the section from Murodo to Tengudaira, known as the “Snow Valley,” where snow walls can reach up to 20 meters high. Visitors can take the Tateyama Highland Bus through the area. For those who find the roughly 1–2 minute bus ride not thrilling enough, it’s recommended to walk through the Snow Valley. A lane is opened from Murodo to Tengudaira, allowing visitors to experience the frozen sensation of walking through towering snow walls.
