Spring Hike at Bitou Cape in 2010 — Taiwan’s Most Beautiful Cape Revealed!

This year, the Northeast Coast National Scenic Area has launched the latest “2010 Spring Hike at Bitou Cape” event, inviting the public to explore a world of fascinating rocks, the sound of waves, scenic trails, and breathtaking views. To further showcase the beauty of northern Taiwan, Tsai Chang-hsien, who rose to fame as a member of the “Prince Gang” in the movie “Monga,” is also actively supporting the Bitou Cape Spring Hike event, enthusiastically declaring: “This is our cape — Bitou Cape!”

This event specially invites student guides from Bitou Elementary School to provide tours and commentary. The Northeast Coast boasts natural rock climbing spots, sea erosion landforms, and Moon Viewing Slope — all must-see natural attractions in the Bitou and Longdong areas. Due to its proximity to the sea, the Northeast Coast offers a variety of specialty seafood. The “Fresh Catch” allows visitors to enjoy the freshest marine flavors, guaranteed to leave them wanting more. Other highly recommended activities in the area include surfing at Wushi Port, kayaking at Fulong Beach, or cycling along the scenic trails.

From April 10 to May 2 during the Bitou Cape Hike event, the Forest and Nature Conservation Bureau thoughtfully organizes a “Sticker Collection for Gifts” and “Weekly Foldable Bike Giveaway” program, along with dedicated shuttle buses. These free shuttle services run between Bitou Elementary School and Fulong Visitor Center every 25 minutes, stopping at five stations: Bitou Elementary School, Longdong Bay Park, Longdong Four Seasons Bay, Aodi, and Fulong Visitor Center. Whether you’re hiking the trails or enjoying a seafood feast, you can reach your destination by shuttle bus.

For those driving their own vehicles, Longdong Bay Park will waive entrance and parking fees during the event period. At Longdong Four Seasons Bay, entrance is free during the event, and spending 100 NT or more in the park allows you to get a discount on small car parking fees. Visitors can collect sticker points along designated hiking trails — collect three stickers to redeem a limited-edition gift and one lottery ticket.
