Popular Tamkang University eatery "Dundas Street" shuts down, becoming a memory along with 2016!

One of Tamkang University students' favorite restaurants, "Dundas Street," announced today onFacebookthat it will soon close, going out of business on December 31st along with the end of 2016. This has left many Tamkang students filled with nostalgia, saying that their cherished memories are truly becoming just that—memories!

Dundas Street offered Italian pasta, brunch, risotto, and more. Dine-in orders came with unlimited homemade rustic bread and drinks, making it very popular among Tamkang students, with the handmade bread being a particular favorite. Since opening in 2009, the restaurant celebrated seven years in business and posted a message on its fan page late at night after 1 a.m. today, expressing gratitude for everyone's support but admitting that it could no longer continue. While not directly stating the reason for closing, the post conveyed a deep sense of reluctance and sincere apologies to loyal customers.

The post also announced that the final day of business would be December 31st at 8 p.m., and with the New Year’s Eve celebrations in Tamsui, Dundas Street will also come to an end along with 2016, becoming a part of history.

Reviews from customers on the restaurant’s Facebook page show that many loyal patrons greatly appreciated the good value and delicious food at Dundas Street. However, some people felt that after the old Datianliao store moved to its current new location and meal prices increased, both service quality and menu content declined, resulting in lower ratings. Looking back at the situation now as the restaurant prepares to close, it leaves many feeling nostalgic and also means that Tamkang University’s food scene has lost one of its beloved spots.
