The Guam Annual Ironman Competition calls on all heroes to challenge their limits.
Located in Oceania, Guam is not only a vacation island of sunshine and sea, but its annual Guam National Triathlon Championship also challenges participants' stamina and willpower in a highly intense atmosphere. If you think you also have great endurance, swimming skills, and cycling strength, or if you're eager to experience the thrill of international-level competition, then this is another excellent opportunity to showcase your abilities. The “2010 Guam National Triathlon Championship” will kick off at 07:00 AM on June 26 at Merizo Pier. The event consists of swimming, cycling, and running. Participants will first complete the swim segment in the waters off Merizo Pier, then transition to cycling southward toward Inarajan Village, and finally run back to Umatac Village. This standard triathlon course covers a total distance of 51.1 kilometers, including a 1.5 km swim, 40 km bike ride, and 10 km run. Registration is now open, with the deadline set for June 23.
Known to the Western world after Spanish explorer Ferdinand Magellan and his fleet arrived at the Mariana Islands and landed in Umatac Bay, Guam, to replenish water and supplies, the island is rich in exotic charm. With lush tropical forests and vibrant flowers blooming year-round, it’s an ideal destination for a relaxing holiday. Visitors can enjoy a wide range of activities, including various water sports such as diving, snorkeling, and whale watching, experiencing Chamorro culture, playing golf, and shopping at American-style malls and duty-free stores.
