Remember in the movie “Pirates of the Caribbean,” when Captain Jack Sparrow said: “If every port were as wonderful as Port Royal, no pirate would ever want to leave!” To satisfy the adventurous spirits of both kids and adults, and in celebration of an eco-friendly Dragon Boat Festival, on June 16th, Miramar Hotel in Hualien has specially planned the “Adventure Voyage – Dragon Boat Festival Series.” The event includes pirate bandana DIY painting, eco-friendly raft-building pirate ship challenges, and fun-filled carnival booths to experience the thrill of being a pirate.
The “Adventure Voyage – Dragon Boat Festival Series” incorporates the outdoor exploration spirit of Outward Bound, creating the “Miramar Adventure Voyage” pirate fantasy. Embark on adventures across Miramar’s vast grassy slopes and outdoor swimming pools to fulfill your dream of becoming Pirate King. The first step to becoming a pirate? Get your own pirate bandana!“A-hoy！I am the Pirate King” invites all elementary school students to paint their bandanas with fabric crayons, decorate them, and tie them on to become real pirates. Compete with other little pirates for top three prizes.

After donning your bandana, gather your friends and join the “OB Commandos – Pirate Ship Adventure.” Miramar Hotel Hualien invites families, students, and groups to sign up. Under the guidance of instructors from the Taiwan Outward Bound Trust (OBT), a leading advocate for outdoor exploration education in Taiwan, participants will build rafts from recycled bottles and cardboard. Then, navigate through challenging levels guarded by the “boss” in Miramar’s large swimming pool, paddle together to the finish line, and win cash and prizes.
Aside from bandana painting and rafting adventures, you can also join the “Land Ho！Dream Island” carnival on Dragon Boat Festival day. Enjoy free DIY sock sachets, make traditional Amis-style zongzi, or bring discarded CDs for recycling and exchange them for gifts.
