Night Tour Fun: Zhu Ming Art Museum “Open at Night in Summer”

This year’s “Open at Night in Summer” event is themed “Light & Shadow. Theatre—Freely Roaming,” transforming the entire museum into a “theatre” where visitors can freely roam and enjoy art. It features an “Art Theatre” composed of exciting artistic creations, as well as a “Night Theatre” that plays with light and shadow using the art season’s commemorative fan. These activities allow the public to enjoy the artistic light and shadow experience at the Zhu Ming Art Museum together.

The Zhu Ming Art Museum by day is like a large amusement park, with works from the Tai Chi and Human Realm series in the outdoor exhibition area to the indoor exhibition spaces — you can enjoy whatever you like. But the museum takes on a different kind of beauty at night, especially when viewing the sculptural works under the illumination of lights, allowing one to better feel the grandeur of Tai Chi martial arts. Most uniquely, under the contrast of the night sky and lights, through the interaction of light and silhouette, you can leave your own shadow on the wall, interacting with the silhouettes of the artworks to create some truly fun and memorable images.

Any spot where light gathers inside the Zhu Ming Art Museum becomes a stage for shadow play. Visitors can also take the limited-edition art season commemorative fan given out at the museum and stroll through the grounds, seeing what happens to the characters on the fan under the light, performing a scene with the artworks using light and shadow. Additionally, during the museum art season “Open at Night in Summer,” snap a photo of your favorite spot in the Zhu Ming Art Museum, write a personal story, and share the photo and story on the museum’s official Facebook page.
