Women have always been a force to be reckoned with in the consumer market. “Besties’ Kitchen,” a female-themed international cuisine restaurant that has expanded from Taipei to Kaohsiung, is one such place. Located on the first floor of an office building, its storefront doesn’t look like a typical restaurant but more like a retail shop. Thankfully, the store name is clearly displayed at the entrance, so you won’t miss it.

A giant pair of high heels at the entrance emphasizes the restaurant’s feminine theme with a striking visual impact, and the red-and-black color scheme is also the main design focus.

The restaurant has a fairly spacious layout and can comfortably accommodate around forty to fifty people.

The high-heel-shaped sofa is a real eye-catcher, though not all seats are designed this way. Shadow guesses it might be due to the space these chairs take up.

The row-style seating makes it convenient for group meals and conversation. The other side, not captured in the photo, also has seating—but since people were dining there, we didn’t want to disturb anyone and skipped taking a photo.

The menu is quite thick, and we’ve included a few pages here for reference. Prices are affordable, mostly ranging between NT$200 and NT$300. For example, the price of steak sets already includes soup, European bread rolls, and a NT$50 drink (with additional charges for upgrades). For an extra NT$50, you can upgrade to a full set meal, which adds salad and dessert to the previous three items.

Handmade pizzas are available as single orders in 6-inch and 10-inch sizes at reasonable prices, and you can also upgrade to a combo meal.

Pasta infused with flavors from various regions ranges from around NT$168 to under NT$288, and most options can also be upgraded to combo meals or made into business lunches.

Pasta is offered in styles such as stir-fried, creamy, tomato-based, and pesto, plus risotto and penne.

There are also kid’s special meals for families dining with children.

For an additional NT$30, you can swap the standard dessert in your set meal for a refined egg tart.

Full meal add-on – salad for NT$50

Salad dressings include Japanese-style, Caesar, balsamic vinaigrette, and passionfruit yogurt. We chose the Caesar dressing, which, aside from the classic flavor, added a refreshing citrus note that kept it from being overly heavy.

Full meal add-on – chef’s soup and European bread rolls for NT$50

The chef’s soup has an aromatic touch from mushrooms, and the overall taste is above average; the warm and soft European bread rolls are great for dipping in the soup.

Featured steak set – pan-seared pork chop NT$298

The sizzling hot pork chop on the iron plate emits a rich aroma that really whets the appetite.

Unlike the usual black pepper sauce served in steak houses, this one is hard to describe—perhaps a meat-based sauce of some sort—with a unique flavor that pairs very well with the pork chop.

The pork chop comes in two large pieces, likely pre-marinated, and feels noticeably tender when sliced. The sauce adds even more depth to the flavor.

Yilan smoked duck garlic noodles NT$198

This dish is more of a stir-fried pasta style. The garlic flavor shines through, and although the pasta looks light and fresh, just a quick toss releases the aroma of fried garlic chips—it’s flavorful without being greasy.

The Yilan smoked duck pairs wonderfully with the garlic chips, adding richness and layers of flavor to the entire dish.

Double-decker pizza NT$268

10-inch handmade pizza—on the left is the “Pork Delight,” and on the right is the “Mushroom & Cheese” version.

Hawaiian Sunshine flavor includes shrimp, pineapple, and stretchy cheese. The crust is ultra-thin, so you need to roll the front part to make it easier to eat. The back part is crisp like a cracker. Personally, I think a slightly thicker crust would give it a more traditional pizza feel.

The pork on the pizza is thick and requires quite a bit of chewing; slicing it thinner would make it easier to eat.

Heavy cream cheese: NT$80

For an additional NT$30, you can upgrade the dessert included in the set meal to a fancy cake. My husband chose the heavy cream cheese one—it didn’t have as strong a cream flavor as I expected, and the texture was a bit looser, but it was fine considering the low price.

Swiss premium chocolate: NT$90

The cake uses different ratios of chocolate and bittersweet chocolate, which not only reduces the sweetness but also adds layers and depth of flavor. This cake is quite delicious.

Honey ginger latte: NT$90

The winter-limited honey ginger latte is just milk with added honey and ginger juice. It’s warm and perfect for women who often have cold hands and feet.

Before coming here, I thought the prices would be high, but they turned out to be very affordable. The food is also well-prepared, and we enjoyed every dish we ordered that day. Although it’s located on the first floor of an office building and not very noticeable, the space and environment inside are nice, making it suitable for events. We recommend this affordable restaurant to everyone.
