The Council of Agriculture’s Agriculture Network has launched a “Modern Noah’s Ark” special feature, recruiting species protection agents. To preserve the most essential biological resources for food and ecology, the Council of Agriculture began planning the establishment of a gene bank as early as 1987 to conserve Taiwan’s important biological resources. “Germplasm” is the cornerstone of agricultural production. Whether it’s crop germplasm banks, livestock germplasm banks, aquatic organisms, or forestry germplasm banks, these institutions that preserve Taiwan’s biological species are like modern-day Noah’s Arks—treasure chests of breeding and biotechnology materials that can be accessed at any time to develop new varieties.
From now until July 30th, the Agriculture Network is also launching the “Agent 37 Call to Action – Noah’s Ark Qualification PK Competition.” Just answer related questions online and successfully complete the challenges for a chance to win popular prizes such as an iPhone 3G, a SONY camera, and a premium Taiwan Delicacies gift box. The more times you answer, the higher your chances of winning. Complete four annual missions and you could take home the grand prize.
