Fall in Love with a Forget-Me-Not Flower Journey: Taitung’s TaiMaLi Golden Needle Flower Season

The annual highlight of TaiMaLi Township, Taitung County — the “2010 Fall in Love with TaiMaLi, Golden in the Golden Needle Mountains – Forget-Me-Not Summer Love, Golden Needle Flower Sea Series Activities” kicked off on the 15th. Currently, golden needle flowers over one thousand meters above sea level have begun to bloom one after another, with golden-yellow flower seas shining across the entire Golden Needle Mountain. The flower season activities will continue until the end of September. Visitors are welcome to bring their families to explore the beauty of the golden needle flowers together.

Taitung County’s Golden Needle Mountain got its name because the mountainsides are covered with golden needle flowers. The mountain is popular among tourists for its wild lilies in spring and golden needle flowers in summer and autumn. The planted area of golden needle flowers spreads over several mountain ridges, with walking paths and pavilions nestled between the flower fields. The golden needle flowers sway in the wind, looking both beautiful and elegant. Last year’s Typhoon Morakot caused damage in Taitung, which indirectly affected tourism at Golden Needle Mountain. Therefore, the township office hopes to revive the fame of the Golden Needle Flower Season through these events and stimulate a tourism boom. In addition to Golden Needle Mountain, the Jin] Hot Springs also offer excellent water quality, making TaiMaLi an all-year-round travel destination.

In addition, Golden Needle Mountain offers an exceptional elevated vantage point and is also the best location to watch the sunrise in TaiMaLi. Over the past two years, the township office has widened the industrial roads and built viewing platforms, allowing visitors to enjoy the beautiful coastal scenery of TaiMaLi.
