Train enthusiasts, this is for you！ “The Charm of Taiwan’s Railways” Special Exhibition in Tainan

The solar-powered Nankang Science Park Railway Station, which opened in July, has now been in operation for a full month. The Railway Culture Research Fellowship has specially partnered with the Taiwan Salt Museum to host the “The Charm of Taiwan’s Railways” Special Exhibition. With trains and stations as the theme, it shares memories of how trains connect people and cities. The exhibition is being held at the Salt Museum and will run until September 12th—train fans, don’t miss it！

The Nankang Science Park Station uses photovoltaic building materials, with thin-film solar panels installed on the roof and parts of the platform shelter. These provide 95% shading and 5% light transmission, making it Taiwan’s first environmentally friendly and tech-savvy railway station.

To coincide with the event, the Taiwan Salt Museum set up a temporary post office on August 29th, offering stamp cancellations for commemoration, as well as launching the “Salt Field Railway Charm Commemorative Stamp” and souvenir envelopes, which are highly collectible.

The Railway Culture Research Fellowship also set up an information booth on-site, offering commemorative stamps, souvenir envelopes, postcards from the Nankang Science Park Railway Station, and out-of-print train stamps for exchange and sharing.
