Free canoeing experiences bring you closer to the Tamsui River
Taipei residents can also enjoy the fun of canoeing. The Tamsui River offers a variety of water activities. From September 11 to October 31, the third free canoeing experience will be held every Saturday and Sunday at He-Shuang No. 21 Park, immersing you in nature and making it a great family activity to foster quality time together.
The Tamsui River basin holds precious memories and cultural assets for Taipei residents. In recent years, the Taipei City Government has actively promoted various water-based activities, creating vibrant waterfront recreational spaces. Canoeing is easy to learn, allowing people not only to enjoy riverside scenery by bike but also to embrace the water.
Unlike previous years, this year marks the third edition of the Taipei Citizens’ Canoeing Experience, which has moved to He-Shuang No. 21 Park on Zhoumei Street. The event runs from September 11 to October 31, every Saturday and Sunday for a total of 16 days. With eight sessions per day from 9 AM to 5 PM, each session accommodating 50 participants for one hour, a total of 6,400 interested individuals can join for free.
He-Shuang No. 21 Park is located on a high triangular sandbank formed where the Beitou Outer Channel and Huangxi streams converge into the Keelung River in northern Taipei. It is best known for sunset viewing, and locals often come here for walks and exercise, making it a popular green space.
