Is bungee jumping no longer a novelty, and does walking on air require flying abroad to experience? There’s now a closer and more convenient option: visit Macau Tower and choose from a variety of thrilling high-altitude activities to challenge your fear of heights — the only limit is your courage.

Macau Tower is internationally renowned for good reason. Its slender, spiky appearance resembles an upside-down, slender syringe — very unique — making it a must-visit attraction for foreign tourists coming to Macau. The building operates as a multi-use complex, featuring a convention center, observation deck, shopping street, revolving restaurant, bar, and café. Its image as a tourist attraction is similar to that of Taipei 101, which is why it has become one of Macau's landmark sites.

The tower is located in Macau’s new reclaimed area of Nam Van, designed by Macau casino tycoon Stanley Ho. The structure is reminiscent of the slender Eiffel Tower. Completed in 2001, the 338-meter-tall tower has its main sightseeing level at 233 meters above ground, offering a panoramic view spanning up to 55 kilometers. From here, you can take in views of Macau’s Nam Van and Sai Van bays, the Guia Hill, as well as the Pearl River estuary and Zhuhai City. It is currently the 10th tallest freestanding tower in the world.

Then there are the activities you won’t find in buildings like Taipei 101 — a series of thrilling facilities are what make Macau Tower truly cool. There are four main activities: “Skywalk X,” “Bungee Jump,” “SkyJump,” and “Power Tower.” Just looking at each activity is enough to make your feet tingle, not to mention actually trying them. Skywalk X is one of the most popular activities. Walk around the tower at 233 meters high on the 61st floor, with absolutely no handrails along the way. Participants rely solely on a suspended safety system with a harness around the waist, walking along a 1.4-meter-wide, 140-meter-long outdoor high-altitude edge — fulfilling the dream of walking on air. Every step is a challenge, whether you’re walking slowly or sitting at the edge of the tower, it’s bound to draw gasps of amazement.
