The 6th Busan Fireworks Festival kicks off on October 21

This year’s celebration kicks off with a K-pop concert on the 21st, followed by World Fireworks Day on the 22nd, which will feature invited fireworks shows by three outstanding international fireworks teams. The climax of the festivities on the 23rd is the grand finale—“Busan Fireworks Day,” where 80,000 fireworks will light up the Gwangan Bridge.
The K-pop concert will feature popular artists and groups such as Super Junior, SHINee, BoA, and 2AM, who will bring the crowd’s energy to its peak. The international fireworks shows include performances by Portugal’s Mecedo's, China’s Sunny, and Italy’s Parente, each presenting opera-themed fireworks displays titled “Lighting Dance,” “Dragon Dance,” and “Fire.” Each of the three 15-minute performances will feature 50,000 fireworks illuminating the Busan night. The grand finale, “Busan Fireworks,” will showcase a 50-minute digital fireworks spectacle, offering a unique and breathtaking experience.
Located in the southeastern part of South Korea, Busan was formerly part of Gyeongsangnam-do. It is the largest city in the southern region and a major port. The area west of Geumchon Mountain in the northeastern part of the city is a popular weekend hiking spot for locals. The eastern Haeundae Beach area boasts numerous luxury hotels and accommodations tailored for tourists. With the relocation of the main venue for the Busan International Film Festival from Nampo-dong to Haeundae, the development of the area has been further accelerated.
