Enjoying coffee while visiting the Flower Expo is truly delightful. Recently, Starbucks opened two themed stores, "Flower Expo Xinxing" and "Flower Expo Yuanshan," within the expo grounds. Both stores incorporate floral elements and green design concepts in their interiors and exteriors to echo the exhibition theme. They also offer two exclusive hot food items (classic meat sauce spaghetti and lotus leaf spiced rice) for the first time at these locations. Each store partner not only wears special uniforms but has also undergone over 10 hours of English training to provide professional service.
Starbucks' semi-outdoor "Flower Expo Xinxing Store" within the expo grounds repurposes the existing Lion Tower of Xinxing Park, wrapping it with three-dimensional petals. The interior features a green living wall for spatial division, and the flooring is made of solid cedar wood planks to convey the expo’s green philosophy. The store's design originates from a circular floral motif that radiates outward, with the service counter, storage area, and customer seating arranged like ripples spreading out in waves.
Starting November 6, visitors holding a Flower Expo ticket can purchase any two drinks (excluding the Flower Expo Yuanshan and Flower Expo Xinxing stores), with one drink complimentary from Starbucks (excluding juices and bottled water; the lower-priced item will be discounted, and marketing promotions cannot be combined). Each ticket is valid for one use only and will be marked with a "redeemed" sticker upon exchange. Additionally, Starbucks has launched an online "Floral Passport" stamp-collecting campaign from November 6 to April 30 of the following year. The passport can be purchased individually for NT$80 or obtained as a NT$50 add-on with any NT$100 purchase. The Floral Passport includes two free medium Vanilla Latte tastings and six stamp-collecting experiences. Each completed experience earns a stamp (stamps do not need to be collected in numerical order). After collecting all six stamps, participants can log in to the Starbucks Taiwan website with the passport number to enter an online lucky draw. Winners will be announced on the official website on May 20, 2011, with the grand prize being 10 round-trip economy class tickets to Seattle.
Starbucks Taiwan General Manager Xu Guangyu said the Flower Expo is one of Starbucks’ key focuses this year, including investments in the two themed stores within the expo grounds, a promotional campaign across 231 stores, a series of marketing activities, and the development and sponsorship of coffee, pastries, and gifts. For example, in terms of communication, in addition to the expo grounds, three stores—Zhongshan, Tamsui, and Nanshi—were the first to feature vibrant floral installations and colorful exterior renovations, with all stores using large window decals to align with the Flower Expo theme.
