2010 International Travel Fair Sneak Peek (Part 1): Five Highlights to Watch

The annual highlight of the travel industry—2010 Taipei International Travel Fair (Taipei ITF)—is back and better than ever this year！ It will be held from November 5 (Fri) to November 8 (Mon), marking the largest scale in its history. For the first time, it will truly expand to fill the entire World Trade Center Hall 1, featuring exhibitors from 60 countries and 1,200 booths. This gives the public a great opportunity to enjoy the most discounts and save big on travel plans for the entire next year！

The upcoming 2010 Taipei International Travel Fair, which takes place next Friday, differs from previous years in that the Cross-Strait Exhibition, which was previously held simultaneously, has already taken place in August. This freed up 250 booths at the World Trade Center, allowing tourism bureaus from various countries to expand their presence. In addition to more booths, there are also many new exhibitors, such as new hotels like Le Méridien and Okura, as well as travel agencies like Shun Yi and EasyJet.

The five major highlights of the 2010 Taipei International Travel Fair this year are: First, the first full expansion across the entire World Trade Center Hall 1. Second, setting a record with 1,200 booths and registration filling up within one month. Third, a gathering of 60 countries from around the world, with the Japan Pavilion being the largest at 94 booths. Countries making their first appearance this year include Saipan and Jordan. Fourth, the Professional level of the Travel Mart has been elevated, with the first morning dedicated exclusively to trade-only negotiation sessions, and November 5 (Fri) and November 8 (Mon) open to trade professionals with free entry upon presenting a business card. The day before the travel fair (November 4) hosts the ITF Travel Mart, where 83 global buyers from 13 countries come to Taiwan to discuss collaborations with local travel agencies and hotels. Fifth, with the economic recovery, discounts remain strong—with domestic hotel room rates starting from 2.2% off, cash discounts, and a wide range of grand prize draws.

Noteworthy large booths include: Japan Pavilion (94), Korea Tourism Organization (32), Malaysia Tourism Board (20), Hong Kong Tourism Board (14), USA Pavilion (13), Macao Government Tourism Office (12). On the domestic side: Council of Agriculture (46), Yilan County Government (40), Miaoli County Government (36), Taipei Pavilion (30), Taitung County Government (22), Taiwan Tourism Amusement Park Association (22), Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (20), Hualien County Government (20). Each pavilion will host performances and various activities, promising an exciting experience！
