2010 International Travel Fair Sneak Peek (III): Spectacular and Charming, the Korea Pavilion!
The Korea Pavilion is the country with the most significant booth growth this year. Last year there were 20 booths, but this year they’ve increased by 60% to 32, bringing Korea’s vibrant culture to the public. For performances, check out two world-class troupes—Korea’s traditional musical drama ‘Beauty’ (Meisa) and the Korean modern innovative dance group ‘Alive and Dancing’ (Aidong), who will take turns performing over the four-day fair. Taiwan’s Jeju promotional ambassador, ‘Lollipop,’ will also hold a signing session at 3 PM on November 5. Additionally, the most anticipated promotional offers are equally exciting, with several travel agencies offering ultra-low prices such as 4-day trips for just NT$9,900. This year’s design of the Korea Pavilion centers around two main themes: ‘2010-2012 Visit Korea Year’ and the brilliant winter season, incorporating artistic and cultural elements of ‘Korea be Inspired.’ It showcases Korea’s travel appeal across all four seasons. A presentation titled ‘Korea, the Beginning of Inspiration’ will be held on November 6 (Saturday) from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM in Conference Room 5 on the second floor of the exhibition venue. The fair recommends that visitors gain a deeper understanding of Korea’s various provinces and counties, exploring diverse regional travel experiences.
Korea’s traditional musical drama ‘Beauty’ (Meisa) is beloved by audiences worldwide. It interprets a love story through string instruments, traditional samulnori percussion, exorcism dances, gayageum singing, and fan dances, fully showcasing the essence of Korean traditional art. The innovative wordless performance ‘Alive and Dancing’ (Aidong) has been recognized by the UK’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe and served as the opening performance for the Korea Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo this year. It is a spectacular show that transcends language barriers by blending HIP HOP, jazz, modern, and breakdancing.
Additionally, on-site activities include travel introductions, live Q&A sessions, and experiences with Korean mini-games, all accompanied by the distribution of small specialty gifts. Seventeen travel agencies within the Korea Pavilion will provide itinerary consultations and services on-site, with special offers featuring rarely seen low prices—such as 4-day Korea trips for NT$9,900, ‘Fun Jeju’ trips for NT$9,900, and discounts of NT$1,000–5,000 for the second person when registering on-site.
