Sushiro Taiwan's First "Kura" Style Street-Front Store Opens on January 18

The sixth Sushiro branch in Taiwan, a Japanese conveyor belt sushi chain, is tentatively set to open on January 18. Its design draws inspiration from Japan’s traditional “kura” (storehouse) architecture. This is the first Sushiro street-front store (Fukuhoku Store in Taichung) supervised and built by specialists sent from Sushiro Japan’s head office, and also the first such store in Taiwan.

The Fukuhoku Store in Taichung features a traditional Japanese “kura” architectural design. The concept originates from President Tanaka Kunihiko’s vision of turning Sushiro into a treasure trove that brings excitement and joy to customers — the very inspiration behind the brand’s name. In addition to traditional Japanese architectural elements, the store offers dedicated parking spaces and private booths that can accommodate four to six people. The store has a total of 199 seats.

Aside from its uniform sushi price of NT$40 per plate, Sushiro’s biggest highlight is its surprise-filled capsule toy machine. After every five plates are consumed (automatically calculated upon plate return), an animated sequence appears on the touchscreen. Winners get to claim a capsule toy.
