The "Taiwan Tourist Shuttle - East Rift Valley Hualien Line," initiated by the East Rift Valley National Scenic Area Administration (hereinafter referred to as the Administration), is a bus service tailored for travel planning. It not only integrates Hualien’s tourism resources but also promotes low-carbon and barrier-free travel, further strengthening seamless transportation connections.

The Administration stated that to continuously improve the quality of the "Taiwan Tourist Shuttle" transportation services and respond to the call for energy conservation and carbon reduction, starting from January 1, 2017 (106 year in Taiwan calendar), the "Taiwan Tourist Shuttle - East Rift Valley Hualien Line" has been operated by Taroko Bus Company. The entire route uses low-floor electric buses, offering 14 round-trip services daily, stopping at 11 stations including the Hualien Railway Station (Hualien Travel Service Center). To help disperse passenger traffic at Hualien Railway Station and reduce travel time, this route also connects with three train stations (Shoufeng, Fenglin, and Guangfu). Passengers can transfer to the "Taiwan Tourist Shuttle - East Rift Valley Hualien Line" at any of these train stations to reach key tourist attractions across the East Rift Valley.

The "Taiwan Tourist Shuttle - East Rift Valley Hualien Line" allows travelers to freely arrange their own itineraries with fixed timing and stops for an immersive experience. It enables visitors to explore various scenic spots along the route using low-carbon, green-energy vehicles. For example, at Liyu Lake, you can enjoy a fully barrier-free environment, leisurely bike around the lake, or paddle a swan boat. You can also visit Lichuan Fish Farm to try the unique experience of "digging for clams and washing your pants." The Shin Kong Siluo Leisure Farm is perfect for a full-day family outing. Visit the LinTian Mountain Forestry Culture Park to soak in its artsy vibe, or head to the Hualien Sugar Factory to sample its famous ice cream.
