All high-speed rail trains now feature

Female high-speed rail passengers can feel more at ease now. High-speed trains will introduce "women-only" restrooms to create a comfortable and friendly travel environment for female passengers. The train layout has been specially adjusted, with each train featuring five "women-only" restrooms, maintaining a 1:1 ratio of male to female accessible restrooms to prioritize passenger needs and continuously improve service quality.

Each Taiwan High Speed Rail train is equipped with a total of 17 restrooms (located in the odd-numbered cars 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11). After setting up the "women-only" restrooms, except for car 7, which retains one accessible restroom and one unisex restroom, the restrooms in cars 1, 3, 5, 9, and 11 will be adjusted from one men’s restroom and two unisex restrooms to one women-only restroom, one men’s restroom, and one unisex restroom.

According to research and statistics, women take longer and use restrooms more frequently than men. To reduce waiting times and avoid awkward face-to-face encounters between female and male passengers when exiting, Taiwan High Speed Rail conducted restroom adjustments on its trains on the 20th and 21st, equipping all 30 train sets with "women-only" restroom services for passengers.
