This year marks Qantas’ 90th anniversary. Not only has the airline brought in ambassador John Travolta to help promote the occasion, but it has also launched some truly exceptional deals to reward travelers. These include Taiwan–Australia flights starting from just NT$19,900, plus domestic Australian flights from only $390. These deals are valid for travel dates between February 14 and April 20, 2011, as well as between April 26 and May 31, 2011. Qantas is renowned as “the world’s safest airline” and has never experienced a crash involving a large passenger aircraft. The Qantas 90th Birthday Special can be divided into two types, both of which must be booked before December 7, 2010. The first is a round-trip ticket from Taiwan, via Hong Kong, to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, or Perth, starting from just NT$19,900. The travel period covers February 14 to April 20, 2011, and April 26 to May 31, 2011. Please note that the tickets cannot be issued on standby or as OPEN tickets. Once the booking is confirmed, the ticket must be issued within 72 hours. No stopovers are allowed in Hong Kong. For mixed cabins or different entry/exit points, the round-trip fare is calculated as the average of the two one-way fares. A change fee of NT$1,600 applies if you need to modify the travel date after the ticket is issued, and a refund fee of NT$3,000 applies if you cancel before departure. Tickets have no value after departure, and no-shows will result in the ticket being voided.

As for domestic Australian routes, such as Melbourne–Brisbane, Melbourne–Adelaide, Brisbane–Cairns, and Melbourne–Adelaide, each domestic leg is just TWD 390. The valid travel dates are from February 14 to April 20, 2011, and from April 26 to May 31, 2011. The international segment is limited to flights operated by Qantas and must be issued on the same ticket as the international flight, with the same fare rules applying. The fare is the same for adults and children, and there is no limit on the number of segments when booking the ticket.
