Ring in the New Year at the Northeast Coast and Welcome the First Light

This year, the Northeast and Yilan Coast National Scenic Area Administration, in collaboration with the First Financial Group, is holding the third edition of the “2011 Northeast Coast Welcoming the First Light, Winning at the Start” light music concert and fireworks show. Special discounted dawn train packages are available for 100 international visitors. The first 100 pairs registering for the romantic dawn shuttle service will enjoy a “buy one, get one free” deal. Additionally, there’s a special gift giveaway event on the cruise-style Fulong Welcoming the Dawn train worth NT$100. For those looking to stay active, there are heritage trail and geological tours featuring century-old paths and historic sites. There are also plenty of fun games and offers, such as “A Hundred Good Wishes for the Dawn,” “Hundred Faces Facebook Group Hiking the Ancient Trails,” and various mini-games and limited-edition goods at the Northeast Coast “Joyful 100” booth, all to be unveiled just before the first light appears.

To encourage more international visitors to join the Northeast Coast dawn-welcoming event, the scenic area administration has teamed up with Taiwan Railways through overseas offices and local Southeast Asian media to offer 100 free round-trip train tickets from Fulong to Taipei (300 tickets in total for Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia each) so that more international guests can experience the romantic dawn vibes of this unique destination. The first 100 pairs of visitors registering for the dawn event will receive a “two for the price of one” discount—originally NT$220 per person, now only NT$220 for each pair (a discount of NT$110 per person). In addition, the Northeast and Yilan Coast Scenic Area Administration has once again partnered with Taiwan Railways to launch the “Turning the Tide at New Year’s Eve, Chasing Stars by Train, Welcoming the Dawn at Fulong, Happiness in a Hundred Ways” cruise-style train event. This allows participants of the East Taiwan New Year’s Eve party to welcome the 2011 dawn together along the Northeast Coast, accompanied by performances from famous musicians. Those riding the painted Juguang Express cruise-style train will also receive valuable gifts worth over NT$100 (including a lucky bag, the 2011 cruise-style desk calendar, a special cruise publication, meals, and more).
