Kaohsiung’s “Pulse of Love” Film Festival Begins Pre-Sales

The archive stated that in the future, in addition to continuously promoting film culture activities, it will also strive toward becoming a public art cinema. In addition to securing funding from public sector sources, it will also implement the principle of “valuing cultural and creative industries and nurturing a high-quality film industry environment.” Starting from the end of this year, it will roll out a series of special art film festivals. Adopting a model of “ticket sales as the main focus, complimentary tickets as supplementary,” it will introduce internationally significant art and independent films, aiming to synchronize screenings with those in Taipei.

This ticketed film festival will offer both online and on-site ticket sales. Starting at noon on the 10th, the public can purchase tickets at the Film Archive or through the National Theater & Concert Hall’s ticketing system. Individual movie tickets are priced at NT$80 per screening. Going forward, the public will not only be able to conveniently buy tickets at all “7-Eleven” and “FamilyMart” convenience stores across the country, but can also enjoy more affordable ticket prices while watching high-quality art films screened simultaneously with Taipei, with no time lag.

The “Pulse of Love” Film Festival, running from December 21 to 31, features a selection of standout art-house films including [The Purple Sea], [Bad Lover], [Blushing Summer], and [Lies About Love], focusing on portraying the diverse relationships between lovers from different perspectives—whether between the sexes or transcending gender. It explores the helplessness and emotional entanglement people experience when caught in love, awakening the faint stirrings hidden in everyone’s heart. The films to be screened on December 24 and 25, [Love on Christmas Eve], will be shown simultaneously with Taipei, making them must-see holiday selections. These offerings differ from the usual fare arranged by the Film Archive, aiming to further raise public expectations for its film screenings and cultivate a larger audience for art-house cinema.
