Kustner’s works abandon the widely known techniques of glass blowing and casting, instead focusing on glass fusing and cold-working techniques. She insists on using self-made colored glass rods for her creations, with each piece formed through intricate, multi-layered processes. Starting with color glaze firing, followed by repeated fusing, and finally undergoing lengthy and meticulous grinding, the surface of each piece achieves a silky-smooth texture while retaining the most beautiful organic handcrafted lines.

As for the color performance, it mirrors the process of Kustner’s creation—even as vibrant hues continuously shift, the artist captures every moment of change with precision, akin to Van Gogh’s “Starry Night.” Kustner says, “I often feel that my works, compared to others, are not so modern or immediate. As a viewer, you have to immerse yourself more deeply in my pieces to see the details and understand them.” Such exuberant splashes of color, built up through almost superhuman patience in fine craftsmanship, reveal the highly contrasting facets of the artist’s inner world.
