To align with Taipei County’s upgrade to New Taipei City, the North Coast and Guanyinshan National Scenic Area Administration (hereinafter referred to as the Tourism Bureau’s North Coast Administration) will strengthen the integration of North Coast tourism resources and enhance service quality. On January 5th of the 100th year, the Sanzhi Management Station was established, and an unveiling ceremony was held at 10:00 AM at the Sanzhi Visitor Center, marking the first major tourism event in the North Coast region under this year’s “Travel Taiwan, Touching 100” campaign.

Due to the Sanzhi District’s rich ecological resources, cultural heritage, and gathering of renowned artists, the Tourism Bureau’s North Coast Administration has collaborated with local communities to organize events such as the North Coast Sea Music Festival, Cherry Blossom Festival, White Bamboo Shoot Festival, and Waterwheel Culture Festival to boost local business and tap into potential markets. According to visitor statistics from the Sanzhi Visitor Center and the Celebrity Cultural Museum, the number of visitors to a single site increased from 99,000 in 2005 to 190,000 in 2009, a growth of about 90%. To support the sustainable development and promotion of attractions like Yuanxingju (the former residence of former President Lee), Fude and Gen De Waterwheel Parks, Qianshuiwan Coffee Business District, and Blue Ocean Creative Market, the establishment of the Sanzhi Management Station aims to improve recreational facilities, support local businesses, provide a platform for community artists, and integrate key tourist spots for international-scale development.

The Sanzhi recreation system welcomes approximately 500,000 visitors annually. Following the establishment of the Yehliu Management Station and Guanyinshan Management Station in January 2005, this marks the third management station set up by the North Coast Administration. Future tasks and visions for the Sanzhi Management Station include managing scenic spots within the area, covering 600 hectares of land and 25 hectares of water bodies, totaling 625 hectares. This includes continuous beautification of recreational sites, promoting local folk culture and traditional arts, advancing marine landscape education, and conserving natural ecological resources.
