Besides visiting scenic areas during the holidays, why not check out an exhibition? To encourage the integration of art into communities and creative works into local culture, the Siraya National Scenic Area is hosting the Siraya Art Journey – ‘Grid’ Exhibition at the Meilin Visitor Information Station, gathering artworks from creators based in the area for a joint exhibition. The exhibition runs from January 1, 2011 to April 30, 2011.

The exhibition not only offers visitors the chance to appreciate art, but also features pre-Lunar New Year activities such as free Spring Festival couplets, batik dyeing, and DIY fortune bag workshops. The Siraya Art Journey – ‘Grid’ Exhibition runs for four months from January 1, 2011 to April 30, 2011, featuring a total of 43 artworks displayed at the Meilin Visitor Information Station of the Siraya National Scenic Area.

This exhibition includes works in batik, calligraphy, stone carving, and shells, using various raw materials to create diverse styles. Each piece “speaks its own visual language” and stands uniquely, allowing visitors to effortlessly “grasp the essence and add their own insight,” bringing art into everyday life and drawing closer to artistic culture — this is the core concept of the ‘Grid’ Exhibition. One piece, for example, depicts the blooming plum blossoms of Meilin through the medium of shells, combining mountain and sea motifs in an ingenious and finely crafted design that is truly breathtaking.
