Universal Studios Japan Celebrates Its 10th Anniversary with a Year of Surprises

March 31, 2011 marks the 10th anniversary of Universal Studios Japan. To thank visitors for their long-time support, a series of exciting celebration events will be launched, themed “The Biggest and Most Special Happy Surprise.” A grand celebratory festival will be held, with various attractions rolled out from Thursday, March 3, 2011 to Sunday, April 8, 2012.

The 10th-anniversary special entertainment show “Dreams Are Universal” is the largest outdoor show in the park’s history. A specially built stage representing Universal Studios Japan, shaped like a “globe,” will be set up in the New York area of the park. On this stage, cartoon characters such as Elmo, Snoopy, and HELLO KITTY, along with about 90 performers, will present a touching story about how family dreams can come true. The show is scheduled to run from March 3, 2011 to January 9, 2012.

In addition to the entertainment shows, seasonal events will also incorporate the “Happy? Surprise” theme — from the super-cool summer event (July 7, 2011 to August 31, 2011), the exciting Halloween celebration (early September 2011 to early November 2011), the 10th-anniversary Christmas (early November 2011 to early January 2012), to the spectacular New Year’s countdown. Throughout the year, dancers and cartoon characters will make surprise appearances around the park, bringing joy and excitement to all visitors.
