Taiwan Tourist Shuttle – Tainan City Free Travel: The 88 & 99 Sightseeing & Leisure Bus Passes will be suspended from sale on December 31st. Passes purchased can still be used until January 31, 2011. Consumers who have bought the passes should use them as soon as possible.
The “Taiwan Tourist Shuttle” 88 and 99 Sightseeing & Leisure Bus Passes (which include bus fares, free entry to two historic sites in Tainan City, and a combined discount program integrating local hotels, souvenirs, and traditional food vendors), first issued on July 1, 2010, have been suspended from sale as of December 31, 2010, due to contract expiration.
Starting January 1, 2011, residents of Tainan City can still ride the 88 and 99 Sightseeing & Leisure Buses for free by presenting their ID or relevant documents. Non-resident visitors may pay the fare onboard with coins or use a TM Card / Kaohsiung MRT Card, at a rate of NT$18 per ride.

The “Taiwan Tourist Shuttle” 88 and 99 Sightseeing & Leisure Bus Passes can be used until January 31, 2011. If you are unable to use them in time, refund locations are: (1) Gaogui Travel Agency: 2F, No. 138, Zhongshan Rd., Fongshan City, Kaohsiung County (2) Kaohsiung Bus Ticket Office at the Tainan Railway Station Bus South Station. However, according to the terms of the pass, late usage or refunds will incur a service fee of NT$20.
Tainan boasts many historic sites and is an ancient city rich in history and culture.
Additionally, the Tainan City Government Tourism Bureau has re-selected a travel agency to issue the Sightseeing & Leisure Bus Passes, which are expected to be released before the 2011 Lunar New Year.
