For a family outing, consider a leisurely trip to the flower-blooming East Rift Valley. Enjoy the special offer of one-bedroom free and make it a great choice to relieve stress and strengthen family bonds. In response to Hualien County Government’s “Fun Heart Hualien” campaign, from January 27 to February 2 and February 6 to February 8 (a total of ten days), Ideal Resort Hualien is offering an incredible deal of one-bedroom free. Guests can choose either to stay two rooms for one day or a three-day-two-night consecutive stay, including breakfast, round-trip shuttle service from the station, and the most famous canal yacht experience. The price starts from just NT$1,100 per person for groups of four, with only ten rooms available for limited-time booking each day.

Not only that, the event also combines park activities with those at the nearby Fengzhi Valley Wetland Park to offer half-day tour packages: “Sunshine Cottage Tour” includes an herbal lunch, a guided tour of the wetland park’s herb and flower fields, and a choice of three out of eight activities such as horse riding, grass sledding, and wetland bamboo rafting, at just NT$699 + 10% per person; “Starry Night Fragrant Love Tour” includes a dinner featuring the Centennial Celebration set menu, a deep-sea calcium-magnesium salt spring hot spring voucher, a yacht ride on the Promise River, and an evening event, all for NT$999 + 10% per person.

The wetland park features a unique wetland ecosystem, nourishing aquatic plants and animals with pristine water sources. Although the winter wetlands are in a state of rest, they quietly harbor subtle vitality—great egrets with their distinctive yellow bills in winter come for the season, and grey herons are the most composed gentlemen in the wind. The large-leafed terminalia trees don brilliant red foliage, fields of cosmos flowers bloom in a riot of colors, and the hectare of herb flower gardens see the sprouting of 14 types of herbs such as lavender, chamomile, sage, and lemongrass, heralding the arrival of spring. Visitors can take a bamboo raft tour to explore the wetlands in the least intrusive way, gaining a deeper understanding of the ecosystem and experiencing the spirit of returning to simplicity and sustainable conservation.

Children aged 4 to 12 can sign up for the popular KIDS CLUB “Winter Vacation Little Seed Camp.” Except for meal and lodging times, they will be accompanied by activity leaders and eight adorable “Earth Defenders,” the resort’s mascot plush toys, to enjoy a holiday all their own. Each little seed will start building communication skills with peers through self-introductions, watch the film “2 Degrees C” to understand the importance of caring for the Earth, and let the seeds of environmental love begin to sprout in their hearts. They can also use straw to create imaginative grass-weaving DIYs, expressing their unique creativity. Outdoor activities include a trip to Fengzhi Valley Wetland Park for a bamboo raft eco-tour and meeting adorable animals.
