Why not head to Tainan during the Lunar New Year? The Tainan City Government’s Cultural Affairs Bureau has specially planned three travel packages for the festive season: the “Century-Old Delicacies Spring Tour,” the “Century-Old Temples Spring Tour,” and the “Relaxed Spring Tour.” Relevant travel and transportation information has also been published on the “Tainan Culture Spring Tour” tourism information website for public access.

The “Century-Old Delicacies Spring Tour” offers a comprehensive food journey through Tainan, where you can savor renowned ice cream, rice cake balls, danzai noodles, winter melon tea, preserved fruits, and purchase Tainan’s top ten souvenirs. The “Century-Old Temples Spring Tour” provides a religious experience, allowing visits to the Luermen Tianhou Temple to welcome the God of Happiness, prayers at Nanxiang Tianfu Temple, blessings and disaster relief at Dongyue Temple, as well as participation in the New Year blessing and empowerment ceremony at Zuozhen Karmapa Kagyu Monastery and the lantern festival at Nansi Dazhishan Xuan Kong Temple. The “Relaxed Spring Tour” lets you leisurely enjoy natural beauty, including welcoming the New Year at Guanzihling Hot Springs Scenic Area, experiencing salt drying fun at Qigu Lohas Village, and watching the sunset at Nanshan Pier.

In addition, this year (100th year of the Republic of China), the city government has launched a wide range of Spring Festival activities through inter-departmental collaboration. These include setting up exhibition areas for the top ten souvenirs, traditional delicacies, and agricultural specialties at Yi Zai Jin Cheng and the Confucius Temple Cultural Zone. There is also an Exorcism and Blessing New Year Special Exhibition at the Xiaolong Cultural Zone, the Sword Lion Spring Tour activity at Anping Fort, as well as events like the Sword Lion Carnival and New Year Goods Street in commercial areas such as Anping Business District, Xinying Charm Business District, Guohua Youai New Business District, and the Confucius Temple. Scenic spots like Guanzihling, De Yuan Pi Dutch Village, Hulu Pi Natural Leisure Park, and Hu Tou Pi Scenic Area also feature exciting activities and performances.
