April 13–15 every year marks Thai New Year, when the famous “Songkran Festival” takes place, attracting travelers from around the world to join a series of celebrations and experience the fun of street water fights. To celebrate Songkran, the Tourism Authority of Thailand Taipei Office has designed two cool cards featuring QR codes. These can be picked up at specific retail locations, and users can scan the QR codes with their smartphones to enjoy discounts on tour packages from eight travel agencies.
Songkran is one of Thailand’s most grand celebrations.
The participating travel agencies featured on the QR codes include Lion Travel, Southeast Travel, Shun Yi Travel, Shi Xing Travel, Zion Travel, Fu Tai Travel, Tian Hai Travel, and Kai Xin Travel. Discounts include up to NT$1,000 off tours, NT$3,000 savings for the second traveler, and various attractive gifts. Every year, Songkran attracts a large number of foreign tourists looking to cool off.
From February 21 to April 30, anyone traveling to Thailand who sends back any of the special Songkran cool cards to the Tourism Authority of Thailand Taipei Office (13F, No. 111, Songjiang Rd., Taipei) or purchases a Thai tour package (both group and independent travel are eligible) from designated partner travel agencies during the campaign period can enter a lucky draw. Prizes include a 3-day, 2-night free-and-easy trip for two to Chiang Mai, a carry-on suitcase, as well as various offers from Thai-style restaurants such as Thai House Group, fragrant rice, and Crystal Spoon.
