Masterpieces of Impressionism Exhibition

To coincide with the Taipei Flower Expo, the Taipei Fine Arts Museum has been rolling out a series of high-profile art exhibitions this year. Following the Post-Impressionist master show "Forever Elsewhere – Gauguin," the museum will unveil an exhibition of works by Claude Monet (1840–1926), the father of French Impressionism, on March 5. Titled "Monet's Garden," the exhibition will feature the master’s iconic paintings created in Giverny, his garden in the suburbs northwest of Paris along the Seine River. These include some of Monet’s most beloved works, such as his Water Lilies series, Poplars, and the Japanese Bridge. Visitors who purchase advance tickets before March 4 can enjoy a 15% discount.

The exhibition features 32 loaned works from institutions including the Musée Marmottan Monet in Paris, Scotland, and others, spanning Monet’s career from 1873 to 1925–26. The pieces depict river landscapes, irises, willows, poplars, water lily ponds, and the Japanese Bridge. Among them are 17 paintings centered on water lilies, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in Monet’s free expression of his love for water and sky, greenery and flowers in his Giverny garden. The exhibition showcases the changing seasons—from morning to night—and the shimmering ripples on the pond, intertwined with weeping willows and aquatic blooms.

"Monet's Garden" will run from March 5 to June 5. Regular admission is NT$300. Visitors who purchase advance full-price tickets through the Books.com.tw ticketing platform before March 4 can enjoy a 15% discount (discounted price: NT$255). Ticket holders can exchange their ticket for one limited-edition Monet poster at the exhibition’s memorial goods area during the exhibition period (subject to availability, one per ticket).
