Dancing Taipei Star: Artistic Architectural Aesthetics Take Center Stage:: The Butterfly Pavilion

The eye-catching exterior of the Butterfly Pavilion resembles a life-giving chrysalis, interwoven with the hexagonal and triangular textures of bamboo baskets, combined with permeable bricks in varying hues to form indigenous textile patterns. It plays a vibrant role in the Flower Expo as a symbol of floral dance, butterfly flight, green living, and flourishing vitality.

Located in the Art Park area, the Butterfly Pavilion amazes the world with its distinctive architectural form and semi-open space design. Its semi-open layout allows for natural ventilation, while the varying light transmittance of different roofing materials contributes to energy efficiency and carbon reduction. This outstanding architectural aesthetics have not only attracted numerous idol TV dramas to film here but also made the pavilion a key venue for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Flower Expo, as well as a prominent hub for diverse cultural and artistic performances.

The Butterfly Pavilion covers an area of approximately 3,043 square meters and accommodates 1,200 audience seats. The stage is built in a semi-open style with a U-shaped seating arrangement. Each performance presents a 40 to 50-minute set show themed “Floral Dance, Butterfly Flight, Green Living” for the Flower Expo. Additionally, from 11:00 AM to 3:30 PM daily, a special herb-themed robotic guide entertains visitors with fun interactive games.

Show Description: To save their gradually withering home — the “Jasgugu Planet” — which has suffered long-term pollution, the Herb Babies must journey into space to find flowers from different planets to restore their world’s colors. Thus, they come to Earth and embark on a magical adventure.
