Celebrating Art Day, the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts invites families to "Paint the Spring Garden"

This year coincides with the Taipei International Flora Exposition and the ongoing special exhibition "Monet's Garden," which explores the beauty of light and shadow. The 2011 Art Day theme is set as "Paint the Spring Garden." The National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts will organize a variety of art exhibitions and family-friendly activities on March 19 and 20, prepare multiple art exhibitions and family events, and hold an award-giving ceremony and creative games on the 19th (Saturday). The public is invited to mix colors and create art in front of a huge canvas in the lobby. Starting at 3 p.m., the Taipei Symphony Orchestra will be invited to perform multiple classic pieces for the audience. Visitors are welcome to spend the weekend at the museum and enjoy this rich visual and auditory feast.

The National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts invites the public to paint together and enjoy a musical extravaganza.

To encourage the appreciation of diverse forms of art, starting at 10 a.m. on the 19th, visitors can pick up a quiz card upon entry. The first 200 participants who complete the quiz will receive a "KoKo Nature" foldable cushion as a souvenir, as well as a "Monet's Garden" study booklet. In addition, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. that morning, a "Paint the Spring Garden" creative activity will be held in the lobby. A giant natural landscape canvas featuring lakes, aquatic plants, trees, and forests will be set up, along with color palette stickers and colorful pens and brushes that allow participants to mix their own vibrant circle stickers. The public is welcome to stick their favorite colors onto the canvas. With the inspiration drawn from the blooming flower arrangements around the museum and artworks in the various exhibitions inside, everyone can jointly create a beautiful painted garden.

The "Monet's Garden" special exhibition is one of the major exhibitions of the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts this year.

On the day, the museum's "Nature Exploration" holiday family guided tour will be led by volunteer guides, taking families to visit the "2010 Art Exploration Exhibition – KoKo Nature" and workshop creations. The 90-minute guided experience allows participants to observe paintings, exhibition layouts, and spatial designs, personally experiencing how artists interpret the beauty of natural scenery through painting. The museum’s 2nd floor "209 Art Idea Space" will also host the "Garden in the Afternoon" all-ages painting activity from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Visitors are welcome to come to this creative space anytime during opening hours to pick up a brush and paint their dream garden.
