April 22 is Earth Day. What can you do for our planet? Over half of the world’s population lives in cities, but environmental issues are worsening. Everyone needs to start practicing green actions in daily life. The “Taipei Earth Day – Green Market” organized by the Council for Cultural Affairs on April 22 and 23 is a meaningful event. Through themed exhibitions, it shares new lifestyle ideas with the public and encourages everyone to start loving the Earth together.

The Taipei Earth Day event has been warmly welcomed by the public over the past three years. This year, it will be held at the plaza of the National Taiwan Museum from 10:00 to 17:00. The venue is divided into four themed zones: “Food & Agriculture,” “Energy & Production,” “Ecology & Land,” and “Green Design.” It invites small-scale farmers, artists, NPOs, and other groups to present eco-friendly, locally supportive, and creative lifestyle solutions and products. There will also be an Earth Cinema, amateur music performances, DIY natural living workshops, and ecological demonstrations.

In the “Food & Agriculture” zone, you can “eat” your way to environmentalism by checking out fresh organic produce and natural agricultural products. You can also make your own “creative moss ball,” using materials that are fully biodegradable, natural, and eco-friendly. The “Energy & Production” zone offers many energy-saving tips for daily life. Bring your home utility bills to get an accurate analysis of your carbon footprint and understand your personal carbon emissions, helping you reduce unnecessary energy waste. The “Ecology & Land” zone explores various ways to connect with nature, such as green space preservation, marine conservation, and eco-volunteering, to restore the Earth’s natural regenerative abilities and create a better environment. The “Green Design” zone features eco-friendly items made from recycled and sustainable materials, making full use of natural resources. Visitors are welcome to exchange ideas and take action to love the Earth.
