Originating from Kyushu, “Hakata Ippudo” is highly praised for both its broth and noodles, and is even regarded by some as the best ramen in Japan. It now has nearly 60 branches across Japan, as well as overseas locations in New York and Singapore, with plans to open more in South Korea in the future, bringing the taste of Hakata ramen to even more people.

Ippudo’s founder, Kawahara Narumi, is a native of Kyushu and is widely known as a renowned ramen master in Japan. He opened the first Ippudo in 1985, and the shop won the TV Champion award for three consecutive years. Its exclusive flavors—“Akamaru,” “Shiromaru,” and “Ippudo Karaka?”—each have their own loyal fans. Paired with relatively thin noodles, whether you prefer rich, light, or extra spicy flavors, you’re guaranteed an unforgettable experience.
Almost every “Hakata Ippudo” requires queuing during mealtimes, but the wait isn’t too long.
Additional Ippudo products such as spicy sauce and tea bags available for purchase.
Ippudo’s Hakata Station branch is located on the 10th floor of the newly completed Hakata Station Building. Queues are common during mealtimes, but the staff maintain Ippudo’s signature energetic and friendly service. Next to the entrance, you can buy spicy sauce and the shop’s herbal iced tea bags. Inside, the small space has 38 seats, each with ample room under the seat for storing bags, avoiding any feeling of crowding.
