Since the Japan earthquake, the number of travelers to Japan has dropped significantly. In addition to promoting Japan’s tourism safety in Taiwan, local Japanese tourism bureaus have also introduced numerous discount measures. To help revive Japan’s tourism industry, Cathay Pacific is offering more affordable 2-day 1-night package tours compared to the same period last year—“Japan Super Fun Travel.” From now until October 31, trips from Taipei to four major cities—Fukuoka, Osaka, Nagoya, or Tokyo—are available at ultra-low prices, with the Fukuoka itinerary being the most economical at just NT$5,555 per person (taxes and fees not included).
Airlines are rolling out discounted fares to counter the decline in Japan travel.
This “Japan Super Fun Travel” promotion includes round-trip economy class airfare on Cathay Pacific, 2-day 1-night accommodation (with a maximum stay of 14 nights), NT$5 million travel accident insurance (not applicable for those under 15 years old by law), NT$500,000 personal liability insurance, NT$100,000 accidental medical insurance, and 24-hour overseas emergency assistance services. The Tokyo travel package starts at NT$8,230 per person, the Osaka package at NT$7,070 per person, and the Nagoya package at NT$9,520 per person.
Starting now, a 2-day 1-night trip from Taipei to Tokyo is available for as low as NT$8,230.
Additionally, Cathay Pacific will hold flight attendant recruitment events in Taiwan. The first phase of preliminary interviews will take place from August 9 to 13, with those who pass advancing to the second round in mid-August. Applicants must be Republic of China nationals, at least 18 years old, high school graduates, fluent in both Chinese and English, and able to reach a height of 208 cm. Eligible candidates can apply on the Cathay Pacific website from now until July 10.
