The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Opens in Dubai International Financial Centre

The world’s tallest The Ritz-Carlton in Hong Kong had just opened not long ago when its branch in the Dubai International Financial Centre also launched in May. Crafted by the acclaimed design firm HBA / Hirsch Bedner Associates, the building occupies an entire city block. Its cool-toned limestone structure creates a striking contrast against Dubai’s scorching weather, exuding a stylish and cutting-edge vibe.

This Dubai Ritz-Carlton marks the ninth building designed by HBA in the Middle East since establishing its studio in Dubai in 2000. It features a total of 341 rooms and 124 executive residences, along with 300 apartments and premium retail facilities. The massive 14-story limestone structure draws inspiration from European luxury hotels such as The Ritz in London and Paris. Towering among steel-and-glass skyscrapers, it showcases a stylish interior design that defines the new generation of Ritz-Carlton hotels.

The design draws inspiration from 1940s French Art Deco, a period symbolizing exquisite luxury and forward-thinking design aesthetics. The overall palette is dominated by cool tones. The chandeliers in the banquet hall and penthouse are inspired by the jewelry designs of Cartier and Bulgari, while the carpets feature rich colors that evoke an oriental flair. The lobby dazzles with shimmering azure Swarovski crystals, adding an artistic touch to the hotel. This “coral reef” is equally captivating day and night, shining most brilliantly under the night sky.

The hotel offers three types of guest rooms, each with distinct configurations, as well as 50 suites including two Royal Suites and a lounge. The main color scheme for rooms and suites is light sea blue and gold, with cream-colored walls accented by Anegre wood detailing. The Royal Suites resemble a 1940s Parisian salon, featuring cream silk-upholstered walls in the living and dining rooms, and African walnut paneling in the study. There is also a service called The Residences, which includes fully equipped serviced apartments with open kitchens and built-in furniture that maximize space. The color scheme here includes warm hues of orange, yellow, and celery green to create a homely atmosphere.
